But anyone hoping that he'd follow that line with the sort of deep introspection that he seems to be alluding to will be disappointed. The artist’s signature cornrowed hairstyle is apparently back in action as well.

However, new music isn’t the only thing making a comeback. Songz also explained his “distinctive vision” he had in mind for the album’s reception, which includes special attention to videos, singles and photos. “Everybody takes everything in so fast and then they’re on to the next thing, so I want to figure out how to hold people’s attention.” “Nowadays music is so like fast food, in content in general-not just music,” he said in the interview.

Tremaine serves as the follow-up to 2014’s Triggaand it sounds like Songz wants to take a different approach this time around. During an interview with 106 KMEL hosts Big Von and Row for the station’s Hip Hop Holiday House of Soul event in Oakland on Sunday (December 18), the Virginia R&B singer revealed there was a hold up when he realized the new material started to sound like what he had done in the past, so he stopped production on it for awhile until he was ready to come back to it. Grammy Award-nominated artist Trey Songz has been working on his Tremaine album over the past two years and announced it will arrive sometime next year.
